Our “Do Something” program consists of a powerful once a year, all-day event for area 8th grade students. The event focuses on character development and our youth version of the T2T emotional literacy initiative.
8th-grade students are joined by school and community adult volunteers as well as high school youth mentors. The event utilizes games, music, and youth development opportunities in a fun and moving environment that is structured to produce a desire for real change in behaviors and understanding of others.
Following the event, numerous follow-up activities are held in conjunction with our local middle school to help reinforce the positive experience of the one-day event. Empowering them to action: “Do Something.” Youth are also invited to participate in the YouthThink “Do Something” Teen Leaders group which consists of high school and local college students who conduct activities as well as advise the YouthThink Executive Board.
