Most of Us Don’t Media Campaign
The Most of Us Campaign is a targeted community norms strategy that is geared towards correcting false perceptions. Facts gathered through valid survey instruments and other data collection demonstrates the reality is that in our community most youths are not involved in using alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. However, the perception by youth is the exact opposite. Our youth believe that most teens are drinking and using marijuana. They also believe that over half of the adult population is also acting accordingly. If the perception is that drinking and using drugs is what most of the population does, youth use rates will increase. Closing the gap between perception and reality and creating the new and understood community norm (that most youth and adults do not drink/abuse alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs) will be a great benefit to our community.
