Ann Atkins, Vets for Child Rescue.

Wednesday, April 3, 6-8 pm – The Dalles High School

You may have seen the large billboard for Vets For Child Rescue (V4CR) on I-84 and wondered about the logo’s meaning. Its shield highlights the goal of V4CR founder veteran Craig “Sawman” Sawyer—to protect children. Spurred by a personal family tragedy, Sawyer, who served as a Navy SEAL, began the non-profit group in April 2017. He has dedicated his life to raising awareness about the epidemic of sex trafficking, rescuing victims, and putting predators behind bars.

YouthThink is hosting the second in their “Protecting Young Minds and Bodies” series with the “Citizens Against Predators” presentation, given by Ann Atkins of Veterans For Child Rescue on April 3,  6 – 8 p.m. at The Dalles High School. V4CR arms not only parents and families, but entire communities with information on the epidemic of domestic minor sex trafficking and the prevalence of online predators stalking our children in every corner of America.  With 50,000 predators online at any given moment, one in five children online will be approached by a predator. Join us to learn about the tools and strategies you can use every day to protect your children, your community, and your family.

“Because of the prevalence of the online devices, our children can be prey for predators from anywhere,” YouthThink coordinator Debby Jones explains. “We might feel that the danger can’t reach The Dalles, but it can and it has. Our children need us to be aware of child trafficking and exploitation. This presentation offers real solutions to protect your child and others. By increasing recognition of the dangers and offering ways to make better/safer choices, we can help protect young minds and bodies.”
